University of California, Davis Agricultural Machinery Collection T Visiting (Note: we are continuing with our facility functionality and presentability focus through 2006. We are still providing tours by appointment, just not walk-ins.) -Victor Duraj ***** We are pleased to have you visit the Collection. Our normal hours of operation are non-holiday Saturdays from 12-4 pm, because the staff is comprised entirely of volunteers. Special arrangements can be made depending on the work or study schedules of the students and alumni who typically host informal visits. Lunch time and after 5:30 pm often work best for such visits. The Collection and Restoration Facility is located on the west side of campus in several airplane hangars on the grounds of the University Airport, a general aviation airport. From Interstat 80 take Highway 113 North, exit and turn left on Hutchison Road, go about 1.5 miles and turn left on Hopkins Road, and finally turn left into the UC Airport. In the parking lot you'll see a sign on the building to the West. The facility is not staffed during business hours but an answering machine will take a message at (530) 752-6177. For more urgent inquiries please call the volunteer staff coordinator at (530) 754-9888. If you are not familiar with the area around Davis, Woodland, and Sacramento, you might be interested to learn about related agricultural collections and museums such as the Heidrick Ag History Center and the Gibson House, both in Woodland, and the Discovery Museum in Old Sacramento. |
